From the Tirtapuri kora, I looked toward the west and spotted Kamet peaking above the horizon. On the left is the rocky south face, in sharp contrast to the smooth snowy north face to the right. Kamet (7756m) is the second highest mountain in the Garhwal region of India after Nanda Devi and the 24th highest in the world.
